Kullu valley is situated around 10kms from the nearest airport city Bhuntar. Manikaran
Manikaran is a small and beautiful town. It is located in the Parvati valley on the banks of river Parvati in the northeast region of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Manikaran is known as the holy and sacred place for both Sikhs and Hindus. Manikaran is associated with Lord Shiva and Parvati.
The place is famous for the natural hot springs and tourists do come here to have a dip in this hot water. The water is enough hot to directly cook food for more than 1000 of devotees who visit this auspicious place to attain peace and spirituality of life. The hot water in the spring contains natural uranium and other radioactive materials, which are believed to cure diseases. Manikaran Gurudwara is believed to have been visited by the Great Nanak with his five disciples.
Rohtang Pass
Rohtang pass is a high mountain pass around 3970 m above the sea level on the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. It connects the Kullu valley and further with amazing Lahaul and Spiti valleys of Himachal Pradesh. The mountain slope is so beautiful that it is an ideal destination for adventure sports like skiing, ice-skating, etc. The perfect time to visit Rohtang pass is during the month of April to October. It is the gateway to Keylong in the Lahaul valley. It has also got the name for being one of the highest mountain passes in the world.
Rohtang tunnel and snow point are the must-visit attraction here. Travelers can pass through the massive tunnel which actually reduces the travel time and as it is cold, snow point is an ideal place offering different types of food dishes and even you can play with the snowballs. So if you are lucky enough, you will find yourself surrounded by the magnificent clouds and snow. Many cafes are settled there selling hot tea, coffee, magic and even meat and chicken. And it is very delicious to have hot food enjoying the amazing view of mountains covered with the blanket of snow. Moreover it is also known as ‘The ground of Corpses’ due to the tricky mountain ranges who took lives of many travelers.
Hidimba Devi Temple
Hidimba Devi temple is situated in the hill station of Manali of Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the best religious destinations for family vacations and holidays. It is also known as ‘Dhungiri temple’. The temple is surrounded by a large cedar forest. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Hidimba, who was the wife of Lord Bhima. Due to the wooden carving in the temple it have the drawings of the different themes of animals and ancient dancers. Temple architecture and buildings have its own uniqueness and beauty which attracts a large number of tourists to this place every year.
Visit Beas River
Beas river is also known as the ‘Heart of Kullu valley’ is considered as most holy river passing through Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The stream of this river is quite ideal for whitewater rafting and kayaking. It is also one of the longest river flowing in the northern region of India and provides water for drinking and other useful purposes to the residents and visitors of Kullu and Manali.
