Somnath Jyotirling Temple
The unique architecture of the temple is constituted of 12 Shiva Jyotirlingas. It is a perfect tourist attraction for art and architecture lovers and followers. Veraval is the ancient closest city to Somnath and tourists enter through the Junagadh gate to visit the Somnath temple. It also contains marvellous and exquisite sculptures of gods and goddesses of Hindu pantheon.
According to the local myths, it is believed that it was once built completely of gold by Lord Somraj, also known as the Moon God, then it was rebuilt with silver by Ravana, further it was reconstructed by Lord Krishna and finally it was well established with stones by Bhimdev.

You can refresh yourself drinking fresh coconut milk in the local shops near the beach side. Also you can ride a horse or camel along the beach and have some amazing photographs for lifetime.
The site of witnessing the rise and fall of the thunderous waves of the Somnath beach is very amazing. But it is not allowed for swimming as its waves are very high and dangerous.
