The Great Rann of Kutch is a large desert area located in the Thar desert biogeographic area and is connected with the southern tip of Sindh, Pakistan. And glowing beautiful tents, camel safari, arts and handmade crafts display. It always enhances the natural beauty of White Rann when the shining light of the full moon spreads on the white land. Kala Dungar – The Magic of the Black Hills
Kala Dungar is also popular as black hills. It is the highest point in the Kutch district which situated in the western Gujarat region. And it is 462 m above the water level. It is located 97 km from Bhuj city and 25 km from the nearby town called Khavda which is mainly covered with thick forests. This place is located very near to the Pakistan border.
It is the best place to get the amazing panoramic view of the Kutch Great Rann White Desert.
It is famous for the 400-year-old Dattatreya temple. And this temple is dedicated to the 3-headed god Dattatreya, an amalgam of Shiva, Vishnu, and Rama. It is a place for pilgrimage. And as per local beliefs, Lord Dattatreya asked to rest on the black hills. One random day, he encountered a number of jackals starving, to whom he offered his body as food.
Due to which the jackals started feeding the lord and he started regenerating itself. Further to mark this amazing phenomenon this temple was built in the name of Lord Dattatreya. Because of this old belief, the priests of the temple are still feeding the jackals. They feed them with prasad after the evening Aarti.
There is another point of attraction on the way to Kala Dungar is the natural magnetic field where. Further, if the vehicle is made stopped at a specific position, it starts moving up on its own against the gravitational force on the slope with a speed of km/hr.
